License agreement
This document covers what you may do with Sincou once it is installed. It applies to the trial and to the licensed version alike.
1. What you get
Installing Sincou grants you a personal, perpetual, non-exclusive license to use the program, version 1.x. The license is yours to use; the program itself remains ours.
The Sincou license covers one computer belonging to the holder. The Studio license covers up to three workstations at the same company. Moving machines is allowed: deactivate on one and activate on the other.
Activation requires a connection once, and only to register the machine and honour the seat count you bought. After that Sincou works without internet, with no time limit: the key is signed and verified on your own computer.
You may use Sincou on commercial work at no cost beyond the license.
3. What the license does not allow
- Reselling, renting, sublicensing or distributing the program.
- Sharing your license key beyond the machine count you bought.
- Removing authorship notices or attempting to bypass activation.
- Reverse engineering the program, except to the extent applicable law grants you that right despite this restriction.
4. Updates
Updates throughout version 1.x are included. A future 2.0 may be a paid upgrade; if that happens, your 1.x license keeps working exactly as it always did.
5. Third-party software
Sincou uses ffmpeg to read media. ffmpeg is free third-party software, distributed inside the application under LGPL 2.1, built without the GPL components. The license text and the address of the corresponding source ship with the application.
6. Warranty and limits
Sincou is provided as is. It has been tested against real production footage and measures its own results, but no sync software replaces the judgment of the person editing. Check the result before committing to a delivery.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our liability for any claim related to the program is limited to what you paid for the license. This does not remove the consumer rights your country grants and that cannot be waived by contract.
7. Ending the license
The license ends if you materially breach these terms and do not correct it after notice. On termination you must uninstall the program. The files you already produced remain yours.
8. Governing law
This license is governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. Consumers outside Brazil keep the mandatory rights of their own country.
